Could there be a new El Camino?

A lot of people would like to see another generation of Elky

1990 Holden Maloo. This isn't an Elky, but an Australian Utility Vehicle (Ute.)

1995 Concept El Camino, built on the Impala/Caprice platform. I like this approach.

A 1999 Holden Maloo from Australia. This has been suggested as a possible Replacement for the El Camino.

Another view of the Maloo. I sure wouldn't mind having one. I like it a whole lot.

Here's the Chevy SSR. I'm not crazy about the looks but I know guys who own them and really like 'em.

Here's the side view. To me it looks like a pickup version of the Plymouth Prowler. There's one heck of a lot more power, though.

And the back isn't a lot better.

The owner of this one couldn't decide between a 70 Nova and a 3rd Gen Elky.

This image of an El Camino prototype was created from a picture of the Nomad concept car by Mikael (Mikey) Enroth of Hernosand, Sweden.

This is the close-coupled version.

And this is the long-wheelbase version (extended cab?)

This may be one of the best looking concepts for a new Elky yet. Are ya paying attention, GM?

If you feel strongly about a new El Camino, whether it's the Aussie Maloo or the new concept vehicle, or the new V8 powered Impala converted to an Elky-like vehicle, let Chevrolet know how you feel by clicking here and writing them a note.
