Fourth Generation: 1973-1977
The fourth generation El Caminos were larger and lighter than their predecessors and they
had more options and more trim packages than had ever been available before. Unfortunately, this generation of Elkys has been
described as the least popular of all generations and the declining sales figures would seem to indicate this, although
the author of this page cannot agree with this description.
1973
1973 was the first year for the all-new body, which included Estate and Conquista packages.
The SS option ($215.00) was still available. This was the highest sales year ever for the El Camino.
