The Chevy Asylum  Car Shows and more 2006

2006 had some drastic ups and downs. My health stabilized after several bouts with hospitalization and oxygen bottles and all that stuff.
I lost my wife during 06 and I immersed myself in automotive events of all sorts as a means of getting over the loss.
The first half of the year, I used the now-completely ancient Sony point & shoot camera.
But several factors led me to move into the realm of Digital SLR cameras (DSLR.)
A big part of it was trying to shoot race cars at speed, whether on the track or on the salt flats.
I tried going back to my 40 year-old 35mm film camera, but that didn't work out.
I ended up with a Canon Rebel XT and the results were amazing.
It took me a while to get used to it, but I found myself shooting many more photos
and getting more detail shots rather than just front 3/4 views of the cars.
That happened in September and the whole photography thing has been expanding ever since then.
