Removing the old 231 V6 motor

Here's the V6 as we're getting ready to rip it out by the roots.

This is my friend and helper Steve. His help was invaluable.
Without him this project would have taken at least three times as long.

Here's Ray up to his elbows in his work. You'd think he's enjoying himself or something.

Ray's taking the rear u-joint out so he can pull the driveshaft.
This was about the time he confirmed his fears that he had an open rear end (I mean the differential assembly.)

Ray and Steve are removing the transmission mounts and wondering how the floor shifter is gonna be installed.

The whole exhaust was discarded to make room for the Dr. Gas crossover system.

The chain's hooked up and it's time to start lifting.

I'm takin' a break...this thing's heavy...ok? You got a problem with that?

Open wide...this won't hurt a bit.

Looks kinda empty in there now.
