Preparing for the new motor
Ok. It's time to start cleaning the engine bay.
It's REALLY gonna take some cleaning to make this look decent.
Here's the 267 small block that's gonna go in it while the rest of the stuff gets done.
Yeah, I know. It's a boat anchor, but it was FREE! And running!
And it'll give Gayle something to drive while I build a 406 for the Black Car and then...
It was a nice sunny day in December and a friend asked if I wanted to use a pressure washer for the day.
Why not? Another freebie...So I loaded it into the back of the Elky
and then pushed the Camaro out of the garage to start cleaning.
Well, after a couple of hours of flying water and grease, this is what the front crossmember looked like.
Boy, was I soaked to the skin. It's a good thing the snow didn't hit 'til the next day.
If you look closely you can see that the upper control arm rear bushing is completely missing.
It's a good thing that I have a PSC kit on order to rebuild the entire suspension.
